TopoPro

Improved site analysis for complex terrain through LES and drone technology with PALM and FlOWer

Content

TopoPro aims to develop turbulence-resolving prediction methods based on LES for complex topographies and prepare them for industry. The PALM model system is used and by embedding FLOWer, more accurate turbine performance and load calculations can be calculated. Drone-based swarm flight technology characterises the turbulence characteristics in the terrain in more detail to analyse the boundary layer and validate simulations at real sites at the industry partners, among others.

The test and measurement group will further develop the UAV ANDroMeDA and increase the quality of the UAV. This includes work on hardware, software and data processing. Measurement campaigns with several UAVs will be carried out at two locations and the collected data will then be processed and analysed.
