VAMOS Results Workshop

December 16, 2022

On 14.12.22 the VAMOS consortium invited to a results workshop. Within the framework of the German-French research project VAMOS; for the first time, LiDAR measurements were used to measure both the upstream and downstream flows of the floating wind turbine prototype FLOATGEN.

With the help of the data obtained, it is now possible to check the accuracy of simulation models of varying complexity and optimize turbine controller using forward looking lidar measurements. SWE was responsible for the execution and evaluation of the nacelle-based lidar measurements, as well as verification and validation of simulation models. More than 80 participants from industry and research took part in the online workshop. The project is funded with 1.3 Mio € by the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection. The installation of the nacelle-based lidar was supported by the Marinet2 H2020 Program.
