Optimising the design and operation of combined power plants and storage technology using very short term wind and solar forcasts

Content

Short-term ridge forecasts of wind and PV output are important parameters for the optimum operation of regenerative combined cycle power plants (KB). Within the scope of this project, the necessary short ridge forecasts (wind and PV) for the time range 0 - 60 minutes with high temporal triggering are to be developed. The shortest ridge forecasts together with operational forecasts of the wind and PV feed-in as well as the load will then serve as input parameters for the P2IONEER model available at the ZSW for an optimised design and management of KB. After development and testing of the newly developed methods, an online test lasting several months with real wind and PV plants will be carried out in a test area in which plant operators and regional energy suppliers will also be involved.
