Content
The aim of the BMWi-funded joint project is the conception of a South German wind energy test field in a mountainous complex terrain. In addition to the basic concept, this also includes the search for a suitable location in Baden-Württemberg or Bavaria. On the basis of this concept, a test field with one to two research wind turbines of the 600 to 900 kilowatt class will then be realised after the project has ended. The test field is to be used for the preparation, testing and validation of new technologies with regard to materials, construction methods, aerodynamics, load control, noise reduction, production technology, operational management, measurement technology and monitoring of wind turbines. Further investigations will focus on the storage and grid integration of electrical, renewable energy. Topics of the accompanying landscape aesthetic and ecological research will be regarded as very important, not least from the experiences in the offshore test field "alpha ventus", and will also be of importance in the conception as well as in the later operation of the test field.
