Calibration of air speed indicator
Today the calibration of the air speed indicator was succefully done with a probe towed by the aircraft.
Further, we are very happy to anounce that Deditec GmbH sponsored us a temperature monitoring device!

e-Genius is back in the air
e-Genius starts with a lot improvements into the 2012 flight season
The first 2012 flights took place at the airfield of GROB Aircraft in Mindelheim. We would like to say a big "thank you" to GROB Aircraft for their support! After two days of aircraft testing and pilot training e-Genius was flown to Pattonville airfield (EDTQ) wich is located only about 20 km north of Stuttgart.

New electronic components for the upcoming season
FLARM and transponder signal surveillance for more inflight safety and a new GPS receiver for data logging will be installed.
The Garrecht Avionic TRX 1500 Trafficsensor integrates an ADS-B / Mode-S receiver with an original FLARM® transceiver.
G.i.N. has sponsored us a CANgps sensor for tracking the e-Genius flights in our onbord computer.

e-Genius was the quietest aircraft of the GFC and wins the Lindberg Electric Aviation Prize (LEAP)! Congratulation to the team PIPISTREL!
Out of originally 13 teams the e-Genius completed the CAFE Green Flight Challenge with an phenomenal second prize. Only the team Pipistrel with their competition optimized double fuselage creation performed a little bit better. We are very proud that our aircraft was able to fullfill all GFC requirements with outstanding performance and is anyway suitable for every day use. In the future we might know if e-Genius is the prototype for powerful electrical flight. In the result list releasd by the CAFE Foundation you can see the amazing effectiveness of our aircraft.
The e-Genius team is very happy about this successful result. We want to thank all the sponsores and supporters for their help making the e-Genius project possible and that successful.
